Austrian Airlines extends option to change reservations without a reebooking fee until July 31, 2021

Austrian Airlines is extending the free rebooking option again. All tickets can still be rebooked free of charge as often as desired until July 31, 2021, if the rebooking is also made before that date. After that, passengers will be able to rebook their ticket one more time free of charge. The newly booked flight can be within the entire ticket validity up to one year in the future. Depending on availability, it is also possible to choose a new destination.

“The incoming bookings prove that as the vaccination rate increases, so do the desire to travel. For worry-free vacation planning, Austrian Airlines is extending the fee-free rebooking option until the end of July. So nothing stands in the way of long-term planning,” explains CCO Michael Trestl. The waiver of the rebooking fee applies worldwide for all new bookings in all fares on short, medium and long-haul routes of Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings.

Passengers who would like to postpone their original trip but cannot yet decide on a new date and destination have the option of initially canceling their booking without committing to a new travel date. The new booking must then only be made by August 31, 2021. The departure date in this case only has to be next year, by July 31, 2022. If the original booking class is no longer available when changing to a different date or destination, additional costs may be incurred for rebookings due to the difference in value of the classes.

Digital Destination Showcase: All Destinations at a Glance

Austrian Airlines expects significant catch-up effects in the tourism segment. For this reason, Austrian Airlines is focusing on European vacation destinations next summer. More than 100 destinations will be served worldwide. The tourist offer will grow to pre-crisis levels. “As soon as the Green Pass comes into effect, we expect a growth in bookings and a catch-up effect. However, due to currently sufficient capacities and favorable prices, it is advisable to book now – with the fee-free rebooking option, you have the security of remaining flexible in the long term,” says COO Michael Trestl. Austrian Airlines is already offering an attractive flight program to various vacation destinations for the upcoming extended weekends. Tickets are still available.

Next summer, Austrian Airlines passengers can look forward to attractive destinations. For example, there will be flights to 15 destinations in Greece. Italy also remains a popular vacation destination and is therefore in the program with seven destinations. In addition, there is a wide range of connections to the Canary and Balearic Islands, Portugal, Iceland and Turkey. Whether beach or family vacations, cultural, city or individual trips – Austrian Airlines’ more than 100 summer destinations, including travel recommendations and booking options, are available for browsing in the new digital showcase.
