Travel plans are on the rise in the US, with just over a quarter (26%) of American adults planning to take at least one trip in the next three months, up from 21% a month ago, according to .
The US has seen its appetite for travel steadily rise over the past three months.
Finder’s inaugural February Travel Index report revealed just 17% of Americans planned to travel in the coming three months. That number rose to 21% by the March survey and now sits at 26% following the April survey.
Americans are most interested in travelling in May, with 13% planning to travel either domestically or abroad over the last month of Spring, while 9% plan to travel over June and July.
All this activity means the US has jumped the global rankings from 12th to 9th place for the percentage of people planning short-term travel.
Overall Malaysia ranks 1st out of 19 countries for the percentage of people who plan to travel over the next three months, followed by India (41%), the Philippines (39%) and Italy (38%).
At the other end of the spectrum are our neighbors to the north in Canada, who rank dead last with just 16% planning any type of travel over the coming three months, followed by Singapore (19%) and New Zealand (20%).
Finder’s Travel Index is an ongoing survey, which has so far gathered responses from 88,966 people in 19 countries.
