India-Bali travel corridor is in the offing

 

In July, Indonesia might see a slight rise in the tourist number from India entering Bali, as the Tourism Ministry is all set to open a holiday travel corridor with the South Asian country that would boost up tourist arrivals to the Hindu-majority province.

Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, the Indonesian Tourism and Creative Economy Minister met with Manoj Kumar Bharti, the Indian Ambassador on March 17th in Bali in their second such meeting to talk about the likelihood of opening a Mumbai-Denpasar travel corridor, including direct flights. To quote Sandiaga at a press conference on Monday, March 22nd, “India is a big contributor to foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia, and most visitors from India go to Bali. Perhaps there is a cultural similarity or the destination and tourism products are suitable.”
