WHO: there may never be a ‘silver bullet’ for coronavirus
Although a number of potential Covid-19 vaccines have moved on swiftly through clinical trials, there is “no silver bullet at the moment - and there might never be”, said World Health Organisation Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Monday. However, he said that the international effort for a vaccine is historic in scale and speed. He reiterated that the road to normality will be long and that mask wearing, physical distancing, hand washing and testing is non-negotiable in responding to the pandemic. The organisation said an advance investigative team is still in China to establish a study into the origins of the virus in Wuhan.
