Dubai’s health sector ready for welcoming overseas travelers

Dubai Reopening For Tourism on July 7 – All Countries Welcome ...

Dubai’s health sector is ready for welcoming overseas travelers with Emirati travel getting back on track, said the Dubai Health Authority (DHA)

The reopening of airports, aggressive testing and sanitization and recommencement of elective surgeries and other healthcare services are “clear indicators of Dubai’s readiness to restart health tourism”, said DHA in a webinar themed, ‘Dubai Leads the Great Comeback: DXH welcomes the world to exceptional health experiences’, which was staged on 22nd July.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Dubai said that the medical tourism sector would contribute around 500,000 visitors to the emirate by 2021.

DHA said that this is still much achievable and tourists are waiting to travel to Dubai for health or medical reasons since the Emirates has now lifted entry restrictions and restarted normal hospital services for both inpatients and outpatients.

The UAE was ranked one of the safest nations during the pandemic –number one in the Arab region and one of the world’s top 10 regarding managing COVID-19.

Dubai’s aims to become a preferred global health tourism destination and a center for top-accredited healthcare facilities.

Dubai is thinking about enhancing its medical tourism offering with a renewed focus on preventive and alternative health practices like Ayurveda, homeopathy and yoga.
