Travel and Transport has developed new product features to enhance the safety and security of LGBTQ+ travelers.

Travel managers can now display LGBTQ+ risk ratings and advice over maps that show where travelers are traveling, as one of several health, safety and security map overlay options in the company’s reporting product, Swift Data. Travel managers can use the information to advise travelers of potential dangers, local laws, and other factors to consider while traveling on business.

In addition, LGBTQ+ risk ratings are being added to our enhanced trip summary emails, that are sent directly to travelers 24 hours ahead of a trip.

In a recent poll of 400 travel buyers, conducted by Travel and Transport, 78% of respondents said duty of care and wellbeing is their top priority for 2020.

"As the dedicated travel partner to companies worldwide, we have a duty to care for all of employees. These latest additions begin to better address the concerns of LGBTQ+ travelers. As Pride Month comes to a close, it’s important that we continue to support all employee groups who experience discrimination every day and not just during this month, especially if it puts their personal safety at risk,” said Tristan Lockie, Executive Director, Global Initiatives at Travel and Transport.

He added: “Safety and security were a high priority before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, but has fast-tracked the development of features like these, so our customers can be informed and provide additional reassurance to their travelers. Our customers have told us they are placing a greater emphasis on pre-trip reporting in the next 6-12 months.”
