MOSCOW – Aeroflot PJSC announces operating results for Aeroflot Group and Aeroflot – Russian Airlines for June and 6M 2020.

6M 2020 Operating Highlights
In 6M 2020, Aeroflot Group carried 12.9 million passengers, 54.2% down year-on-year. Aeroflot airline carried 7.8 million passengers, a year-on-year decrease of 56.1%.

Group and Company RPKs decreased by 55.1% and 56.7% year-on-year, respectively. ASKs decrease by 47.8% year-on-year for the Group and Company.

The passenger load factor decreased by 11.1 p.p. year-on-year to 68.2% for Aeroflot Group and decreased by 13.2 p.p. to 64.1% for Aeroflot airline.

June 2020 Operating Highlights
In June 2020, Aeroflot Group carried 1.2 million passengers, a year-on-year decrease of 79.1%. Aeroflot airline carried 523.0 thousand passengers, a year-on-year decrease of 84.2%.

Group and Company RPKs were down 83.6% and 87.5% year-on-year, respectively. ASKs decrease by 77.5% for Aeroflot Group and by 81.8% for Aeroflot airline.

Aeroflot Group’s passenger load factor was 61.5%, representing a 22.6 percentage point decrease versus the same period a year earlier. The passenger load factor at Aeroflot – Russian Airlines decreased by 25.3 percentage points year-on-year to 56.4%.

Impact of coronavirus pandemic
In 6M and June 2020, operating results were affected by the dynamics of demand and significant flight restrictions imposed amid the spread of the novel coronavirus infection. In addition to the suspension of scheduled international flights, quarantine restrictions in Russia and passengers’ propensity to travel amid pandemic affected the decline in domestic traffic indicators.

In June Aeroflot Group began to gradually restore operating volumes due to the partial lifting of restrictions. The restoration of flights is accompanied by a progressive increase in the passenger load factor.

Fleet update
In June 2020, Aeroflot Group added one DHC8-200. One DHC8-300 was phased-out. As of 30 June 2020, Group and Company fleet had 360 and 246 aircraft, respectively.

Requirements and guidelines for passengers arriving to Russia on international flights
Aeroflot reminds passengers they must adhere to the requirements and guidelines established by consumer watchdog Rospotrebnadzor to prevent the spread of COVID-19 following the gradual reopening of international flights.

The 14-day quarantine regime has been removed for passengers arriving into Russia from the countries to which international flights will resume on August 1.

Russian citizens arriving in Russia on regular or charter flights from countries to which flights have resumed, will be required to complete a form on the public services website (www.gosuslugi.ru) and then upload COVID-19 PCR-test results within three days of arrival. Passengers will also be required to complete a special form during the flight.

Foreign citizens planning to fly into Russia, including transit passengers, are required to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR-test result in order to check in and board the flight. Passengers must be tested within 72 hours of the flight departure. They will also be required to complete a special form during the flight.

Please note that Aeroflot only accepts results from PCR-method COVID-19 tests. No other test results, including antibody tests, will be accepted.

In Moscow, express PCR COVID-19 tests are available in Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo airports as well as in a number of state and private clinics.
