easyJet recently announced that it has decided to operate a new route to the Greek island of Santorini sometime around next month. The action will make the carrier the first airline to fly the route from London Luton Airport this summer. The new flights will commence on August 6 and operate three times every week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Santorini is part of a group of small picturesque islands in the Aegean sea, north of Crete recognised for its spectacular views across the island owing to its volcanic towering cliffs – along which small villages spring out with whitewashed buildings. The amalgamation of the landscaped has made the destination popular for its beautiful sunsets over the sea. Therefore, with the inclusion of the summer destination, easyJet will now be operating over 40 routes from Luton this summer.
The airline has also confirmed that it is likely to operate its full pre-pandemic flight schedule to Alicante (15 flights a week), Mahon and Ibiza (ten flights a week each) this summer. The carrier already resumed flying from the airport on July 1, and is operating around 90% of its existing Luton route network, including vibrant city breaks to Milan, Lisbon and Porto; summer sun hotspots, Corfu, Rhodes, Tenerife, Lanzarote and Split; cultural Tel Aviv, as well as Reykjavik in Iceland, renowned for its dramatic landscapes.

He mentioned that the beautiful island of Santorini is a great addition for those looking for a belated summer holiday. He also said that he is aware of the fact that several people may have had to rearrange their summer holiday plans this year and shared that it is even better that the carrier can continue to expand what it offers and provide travellers a wide choice of summer holiday destinations this year.
