U.S. hotel properties are closing out this year with newly revamped spaces, while others are just getting started. Here’s a look at five of them:
Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas unveiled a refresh to its guestrooms across both the Boulevard and The Chelsea Towers. The project, which kicked off this summer, will be fully complete in 2018 with 2,895 of the resort’s 3,027 rooms remodeled, influenced by innovative and inspired designers, including New York-based Virserius Studio.
“Where The Cosmopolitan is at today is a reinvention of the property that opened its doors more than six years ago,” said Bill McBeath, president and CEO of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. “The past two years have been a transformative process that has reinvigorated gaming, food and beverage and will now include the complete redesign of our hotel rooms—they are bold, innovative and a direct reflection of our alluring brand.”
Standout features of the newly designed guestrooms include modern artwork paired with clean textiles, statement wallcoverings, textured carpeting, improved lighting and user-friendly technology.
The Terrace rooms—Terrace Studio, Terrace One Bedroom, Terrace Suite—and Reception Suites, with influence from Virserius Studio, feature a design that draws inspiration from both The Cosmopolitan and its Las Vegas location. Interiors exude an edgy yet sophisticated aesthetic, incorporating jewel tones, gold touches and handcrafted patterns. Standout elements include a custom damask wallcovering that doubles as a canopy over the beds and a collection of bold, internationally sourced artwork.
Chicago Marriott Lincolnshire Resort
After a $25-million renovation, the Chicago Marriott Lincolnshire Resort has reopened. The Gettys Group led the design of the project, implementing modern technology and amenities throughout the resort.
Nearly every aspect of the resort was transformed, including the introduction of two new restaurants—Three Embers and Wrights Brew & Bistro—the addition of a full-service Starbucks Café and a new day spa, and the renovation of all the resort guestrooms.
It is managed by The Bricton Group and home of the Marriott Theatre.
Clinton Hotel
Located in the heart of Miami’s South Beach, the Clinton Hotel has been gut renovated and recently reopened. Owned and operated by Think Hotel Group, the property's transformation was completed in October. The new look enhances the original 1930s Art Deco, boutique-style ambiance of the hotel, while upgrading the established amenities.
The rejuvenated hotel and restaurant space have undergone all-encompassing alterations to ensure functionality and sophistication as part of the guest experience, according to the company. There’s also a new on-property Brazilian restaurant, The Goods.
SpringHill Suites Miami Downtown/Medical Center
SpringHill Suites Miami Downtown/Medical Center has reinvented its accommodations to match the atmosphere and contemporary vibe of South Florida.
The property completed a $2-million dollar renovation of its guestrooms and hallways, updating wallpaper, paint, carpet, desk chairs, lamp shades, mattresses, headboards, wall art and pullout sofa beds. The hallway corridors received new carpet and wallpaper.
While many of the changes focused on aesthetics, the Miami hotel also included practical alterations. Business travelers can utilize the well-lit work desks with new ergonomic chairs and complimentary high-speed WiFi. There is also an on-site restaurant, 13 Eleven, serving casual fare and handcrafted cocktails for lunch and dinner.
The Lodge at Sea Island
Sea Island revealed plans for a $25-million enhancement program at The Lodge at Sea Island, which will include six new cottages, a new Golf Performance Center, an oceanfront pool and pool house, and a new putting course.
Work on these new additions will begin in December and are expected to debut in November 2018 in time for the RSM Classic, an official PGA Tour event held annually at Sea Island Golf Club. Additionally, in December 2018, Sea Island’s Plantation Course will undergo a full renovation under the direction of Love Golf Design, reopening in October 2019.
