New Direct Flights from Los Angeles’ LAX to Acapulco ease travel

Acapulco Bay
Mexican airline Volaris has recently announced direct flights from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Acapulco International Airport (ACA) starting on December 19, 2017. The new route will run on a weekly basis and forms part of the many efforts on behalf of Acapulco to make the destination more accessible to international visitors.
Through the new Volaris direct flight, visitors are conveniently able to experience Acapulco’s luxury hotels and new attractions like XTASEA, the world’s longest overwater zipline. This initiative is part of a master plan to attract international visitors to boost the economy and strengthen the destination’s tourism.
Beginning Dec. 19, Volaris Flight Y4 600 will depart from LAX at 12:04PM and arrive at ACA at 6:10PM. From Dec. 19, Volaris Flight Y4 601 will depart ACA at 6:59PM and arrive at LAX at 9:20PM. The route will continue to be serviced on a weekly basis, offering travelers a direct four-hour flight between the destinations.
The new Volaris route arrives just as tourism is on an upswing, with more American tourists than ever visiting Acapulco. The agreement on the new service came about through the combined efforts of the Guerrero state government, the Mexican Tourism Promotion Council (CPTM), the Mexican Aviation Organization and Mundo Imperial.
As part of its plans to update tourism infrastructure, Acapulco will debut a new state-of-the-art airport terminal in 2018 that will ease passenger flow and increase arrivals capacity. The city has also received a billion-dollar investment from Grupo Autofin, a private conglomerate that recently launched XTASEA the world’s largest over-the-ocean zipline, and is currently renovating some of the most iconic hotels in the city, as well as developing a new Medical Center, a tennis stadium and an eco-amusement park. The completion dates for these projects are all between 2017 and 2022.
Acapulco stands out for incredible attractions including the world-famous and thrilling cliff divers from La Quebrada, Mexican artist Diego Rivera’s famous art mural, the 1616 founded Fort of San Diego which sits in front of Acapulco’s Port along with many other topnotch sites. Outdoor enthusiasts will find much more to bask in, as Acapulco offers five major golf courses, tennis, kayaking, scuba diving, windsurfing, sport fishing along with bungee jumping or parachuting to enjoy the sun any time of year along with gorgeous nature reserves. Laguna de Tres Palos, just to the southeast of the city is one of Guerrero State’s best birdwatching areas, with heron and other birds frolicking among the lily pads and blossoming tropical flowers. Just off the coast from Peninsula de las Playas is Isla Roqueta, a tropical forest covered island, its central mountain topped by a lighthouse, and a popular site for snorkeling and kayaking.
