They visited hotels and attractions in the area, reviewing their facilities and meeting those involved in the sector. During the trip, Alanya’s renowned Adin Beach Hotel presented Ufuk Seçgin, HalalBooking’s Chief Marketing Officer, with their ‘Top Agency of 2017’ award during their ‘Night of Stars’ Gala Dinner.
Seçgin said: “This was a great opportunity to show our affiliate agency partners what halal-friendly travel is all about. Turkey boasts some of the world’s leading halal-friendly hotels and resorts, so it was wonderful for them to experience at first-hand the service and facilities which they will be selling to their guests.”
HalalBooking organises familiarisation trips twice a year, and this is its third year of running the programme. Understandably, there is stiff competition for places on the trip. Seçgin explained: “We always see a rise in bookings from participating agents after these trips. More importantly, our affiliate agents tell us that having first-hand experience of the destination means that they can offer a better quality, more personalised service to their customers.”
The Halal travel market is one of the youngest and most dynamic sectors in the travel industry. It is expected that the Muslim market spend on outbound travel will reach $243 billion by 2021.[i] Despite the overall fall in tourists visiting Turkey from traditional markets such as the UK and Germany in recent years, HalalBooking has doubled the number of guests it carries to Turkey over the past year, and growth continues to be strong.
