Asia’s very first luxury line, Dream Cruises is targeting Australians with a Singapore-based cruise vessel and an alliance worth $28 million.
Thatcher Brown who is the President of Dream Cruises told a regional news media of Singapore that they are targeting Australian families particularly for the fly-cruise market. He was speaking as the cruise line celebrated basing its first cruse ship ‘Genting Dream’ in Singapore this week.
At the same time Singapore Tourism Board and Changi Airport declared that they were teaming up with Dream Cruises to attract the burgeoning luxury cruisers of Australia.
Mr. Brown said that since Genting Dream is homeported in Singapore they would be able to provide better and more diversified products to draw Australians with their 2 and 5 night itineraries to destinations of ASEAN.
This company is ready to launch a second ship this week known as the World Dream in Hong Kong.
Singapore was chosen as the destination since it is well-equipped with the finest cruise and tourism infrastructure. Singapore also has great connectivity and is really pivotal to the ten ASEAN countries. Looking at Genting Dream as a spectacular Singapore and ASEAN icon, its luxurious, floating cruise liner would be calling at over 10 ports in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia in new itineraries for 2018.
The cruise ship’s exclusive Dream Palace is enriched with a European-style butler service with the duplex Garden Penthouse described as the ideal of elegance.
Following the celebrations this week at the Zodiac Theatre the guests were entertained by the original production Voyage of a Lover’s Dream of Dream Cruises that is a love tale between a mermaid and an astronaut. Both these characters are painted beautifully on the ship’s hull.
Thereafter the guests were taken on a ship tour.
Known as the gateway to Southeast Asia Singapore has witnessed a hike in cruise passengers last year with as many as 1.2 million people going through two cruise terminals.
