Thomson Cruises , UK’s third largest line will be rebranded as Marella Cruises. This is regarded as the biggest and most exciting evolution in the company’s history that occurred post Thomson’s transition to Tui later.

The Tui Explorer ship launching next year will be called the Marella Explorer while Tui Discovery and Tui Discovery 2 will be known as Marella Discovery and Marella Discovery 2.

Marella means ‘shining sea’ in Celtic that reflects the spirit of exploration and discovery across the seas. The line mentioned that the components of Thomson Cruises holiday like tips and services charges included in the price will remain unchanged after rebranding.

There will be new itineraries across Asia by Winter 2018 to celebrate the launch of Marella Cruises programme. Marella Discover will sail across 18 new ports of call on 14 new adult-only itineraries that will include Colours of the Far East, that would depart from Bangkok, Thailand and Enchanting Far East that would set sail from Langkawi in Malaysia.

Helen Caron, the distribution and cruise director mentioned that they were to offer a great experience so that the guests keep coming back and this was an incredible time for their business. With the addition of brand new fleet and more destinations, there will be more choices and experiences that will reflect the spirit of exploration and discovery.

Marella Discovery’s South East Asian will head towards Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia and Kuala Lumpur. The ship will also sail to India and Middle East.
