Sykes Cottages, the UK’s largest independent operator of UK holiday rental properties, has launched its first mobile app to bring the knowledge of its 8,000 holiday home owners direct to customers.
The ‘My Sykes’ app is free to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. As well as offering thousands of insider tips on the best places to visit and things to do, it also features exclusive offers on trips, tours and attractions as well as directions and local weather forecasts
Customers can also use the app to easily book another visit to the same holiday cottage, or search for ideas for other breaks.
James Shaw, Chief Marketing Officer at Sykes Cottages, said: “British breaks continue to grow in popularity as more people realise the amazing experiences that can be found on our stunning coastlines, beautiful countryside and vibrant towns. Bookings at Sykes have increased by over 20% year-on-year and we’ve also seen a massive boost in people booking through mobile too.
“The My Sykes app gives us the opportunity to share the expertise of our owners who are passionate ambassadors for their local areas, as well as helping to encourage loyalty through repeat bookings.”
The app will be promoted through an integrated marketing campaign, including PR, email marketing and social media advertising.
The My Sykes launch also coincides with Sykes’ first TV advertising campaign in its 26-year history.
James Shaw continues: “We’re an ambitious, fast-growth business and our investment into both the mobile app and TV advertising will help us to deliver on our commitment to being the best choice for property owners, offering the best experience to customers and operating the best brand and platform in the market.”
Sykes, which manages over 10,000 holiday rental properties, expects to serve over one million holidaymakers this year.
Earlier this year, the Chester-based business was named as one of the region’s Top 15 Fastest-Growing Larger Technology Companies at the Northern Tech Awards.
