The Miami-based luxury line New Regent itinerary has announced the plan for a voyage to the Arctic Ocean and the passengers can have an access to the remote areas of Russia.
This unusual new itinerary from Regent Seven Seas Cruises will began its voyage from Southampton, England that will include stops in the little-visited, far-north Russian ports of Murmansk and Archangel.
This 20-day sailing in the midst of the snow and the ice bergs on the 490-passenger Seven Seas Navigator will kick off July 25, 2019 and also include a stop in remote Solvetsky Islands of Russia.
The sea voyage will kick off with a week of cruising up the coast of Norway into the Arctic. The stops include the destinations like Haugesund, Flam, Molde, Trondheim and Hammerfest.
Navigator then will head east to the Russian Arctic before turning back for several more stops in Norway and a visit to Scotland. The trip ends on Aug. 14, 2019 in Amsterdam, municipality of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The Russian ports on the route are rarely visited by cruise ships. Just two cruise vessels from major lines catering to North Americans are schedule to visit Murmansk in 2018.
The Navigator Cruise currently is the only ship from a major brand scheduled to visit Murmansk in 2019.
The cities of Murmansk and Archangel are the top names during Second World War, much devastated by the Germans. It is familiar in the history as they played an important role in the clash. They were the end points for massive, U.S.-led Arctic convoys that delivered much-needed supplies to the Soviet Union during the war. More than 1,000 merchant ships escorted by U.S., British and Canadian naval ships took part in the convoys to help the Russia during the War.
The fares for the Regent Seven Seas Cruises sailing start at $13,999 per person, based on double occupancy with the comfortable and luxury accommodations.
