The tourism scenario in Rutherford County continues growing impressively.
As per the figures released by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development and also the U.S. Travel Association, Rutherford County witnessed a rise of nearly 4.9% in terms of tourism spending from 2015 to 2016.
The tourism-related spending in this part of the world had risen $316.45 to $331.89 million putting Rutherford County in the leading 10 nations across the state for travel-associated expenses.
Bill Jones who is the Chairman of Destination Rutherford said that the increase proves that the tourism professionals of this region are working diligently.
And, tourism sector is a significant economic growth driver benefitting everyone in the community. Jones also said that the money spent by tourists here directly affects the local economy and without such an amount generated y tourism, every household in Rutherford County would have to pay more in state and also local taxes
Rutherford County Convention and Visitors Bureau Chair Travis Emore commented saying that though these statistics are really interesting, they need to concentrate on how the tourists continue to spend more in Rutherford.
He added that their highly-efficient Convention and Visitors Bureau continues to work hard for helping people opting for Rutherford County as their destination by maintaining a hometown feel that is quite appealing to tourists and various businesses.
