Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah in Istanbul is hosting a number of art exhibitions during March including ‘Decadence’ to celebrate the hotel’s 125th year and ‘The Divas of Cinema’ to mark the International Women’s Day on 8 March.
The hotel has hosted many important guests throughout its history such as Agatha Christie, Alfred Hitchcock and Knut Hamsun. In partnership with the DAS Art Project, an initiative which works with independent artists, the exhibition will celebrate these iconic visitors. ‘Decadence’ can be visited between 14 – 17 March and will showcase the changes in society through the artworks of Ozan Atalan, Burak Ayazoğlu, Ünal Bostancı, Aycesu Duran, Beril Gülcan, Onur Karaoğlu, Hakan Kırdar, Muhittincan, Öner Taylan Öztürk, Koral Sagular and Sena.
The Divas of Cinema
To celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March, Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah, together with publisher and collector Şerif Antepli, also exhibits a special selection of ‘female divas’ in both Turkish and world cinema between 8 – 13 March. Photos, magazine covers, books, posters and calendars of the likes of Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, Türkan Şoray, Hülya Koçyiğit and Selda Alkor will be exhibited at the hotel.
Between 7-12 March, art enthusiasts had a chance to see the precious gems, stones and apparels exhibition prepared by Turkey’s Gems Study Group also at the Grand Pera Ballroom.
