President Donald Trump’s revised travel ban received its first legal challenge from Hawaii. Mr Trump’s new executive order signed this week restricts travel from six predominantly Muslim countries.

An executive deal was signed for temporarily blocking travel for immigrants from six Muslim-majority countries including Syria, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, Yemen and Iran. The order imposed a 90-day ban on travellers from the following countries. Additionally, it suspended the US refugee programme for 120 days and subsequently the US will not accept more than 50,000 refugees in a year, down from the 110,000 cap set by the Obama administration. in the new order Iraq people has been exempted and is only restricted to new visa applicants.

A spokesman for the US Department of Justice said that they are confident that the president’s actions are lawful to protect the national security of the country. While Hawaii is the first to sue to stop the revised ban, the restraining order is still in place and could apply to the new one, too, as came from a spokesman for the Washington attorney general’s office.
