American Cruise Lines have declared that it going to construct five brand new riverboats for service in the United States.
The company has asserted in its official statement that these riverboats would actually combine the modern looks of a typical European riverboat with the comforts for which the American Cruise Line is generally known. The first few riverboats in the series are expected to commence passenger service in the year 2018 and would be carrying 200 guests.
For more than 10 years, they had led the way for ship innovation in the United States.
And, they would continue to increase the bar thanks to the modern class of stylish riverboats, according to Timothy Beebe, the Vice President of American Cruise Line. Mr. Beebe has said that the American has always pursued its new program since it considers refurbished boats that are not able to meet the modern expectations of the river cruise passengers of present-day.
The construction work has already commenced at Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Salisbury, MD.
Apart from the ne modern riverboats, this reputed cruise liner has also planned to build two additional cruise ships at Chesapeake Shipbuilding. American Constellation that can carry 170 passengers is scheduled to start cruising in May 2017 and also its sister ship that would start cruising in 2018.
