SARDON DE DUERO, SPAIN – Abadia Retuerta LeDomaine, the award-winning historic hotel located in a restored 12th-century abbey surrounded by vineyards in Spain’s Duero winegrowing region, has been accepted into Virtuoso, announced Managing Director Andres Araya.
“We can’t think of a better way to mark our fifth anniversary than being admitted into the incomparable Virtuoso network,” said Mr. Araya. “It is a seminal milestone in our short but exceptionally successful evolution into one of Europe’s leading hotels, giving us the opportunity to introduce our iconic, bespoke property to Virtuoso’s luxury travel advisors in countries worldwide and their sophisticated and affluent clientele.”
Virtuoso is the most significant player in luxury travel with a network of the best luxury travel agencies, with more than 15,200 advisors worldwide, and annual agency sales of more than $21.2 billion. Virtuoso’s portfolio of nearly 1,700 preferred partners comprises top hotels and resorts, cruise lines, tour operators, and other travel companies.
For Abadia Retuerta LeDomaine, it has been a spectacular first five years since opening in 2012: A sensitively and imaginatively implemented restoration of the 900-year-old abbey earned a Europa Nostra Award from the European Union for conserving cultural heritage; Spain’s first hotel to offer a complete butler service; the Refectorio restaurant earning a Michelin Star after only two years; the opening in 2015 of Santuario LeDomaine Wellness & Spa that set new spa standards in Spain with its personalized service, bespoke vinotherapy concept and innovative ‘Spa Sommeliers’; the addition of eight luxurious new guest rooms, all with direct spa access, bringing the hotel’s total to 30 rooms and suites; the winery winning awards for its exceptional single terroir wines; and receiving worldwide recognition including being named 2017 “Hideaway of the Year” by Andrew Harper and ‘Best New Spa & Wellness Property’ for 2106 by Spafinder.
