In order to revive tourism in Paris and Brussels after terror attacks, Eurostar is offering special fares of only £19 for one way ticket from London. But the low-fare ticket will force the travellers to sit on their tip-up seat for the entire ride.
According to the data revealed by STR, the hotel data firm, during the first nine months of 2016, the revenue from hotel room bookings fell 23 per cent in Brussels, while the revenue fell 15 per cent in Paris due to the terror risks.
In order to draw the tourists back to the popular travel destinations of Paris and Brussels, Eurostar was giving away one-way ticket in May in exchange of £25. At present, the authorities have decided to lower the fare even more.
Travellers will be able to book from almost 20,000 seats between 28th November and 15th January’17. According to data, the latest fares are the lowest that Eurostar ever charged for the Channel Tunnel rail. One can also book ticket on a train to Lille at £19.
It has been revealed by the Eurostar officials, the bookings will open on 21st November and the offer will be invalid after eight days. Also, the offer will be only applicable to the Facebook users.
Eurostar has informed that the traveller will not be able to choose the departure time for their train but they can choose whether they will like to take the morning or afternoon train. Also, the travellers need to book the tickets at least a week prior to the date of their departure and the Eurostar authorities will inform them about the departure time two days before the trip.
The train operator also informed that if they face high demand, they can give a tip up seat to the traveller, depending on the availability.
