Ει βούλει καλώς ακούειν, μάθε καλώς λέγειν, μαθών δε καλώς λέγειν, πειρώ καλώς πράττειν, και ούτω καρπώση το καλώς ακούειν. (Επίκτητος)

The world’s first jet packs will be made available to public from 2017 which will allow them to fly through the air! As interesting as it sounds, this James Bond-style mode of transport is the only jet pack ever built that can be carried on the pilot’s back with relative ease. It has two turbine jet engines which showcases some of the most advanced technological features and is the fruit of many years of research and development.

The jet packs can fly for up to 10 minutes and it has the ability to reach a speed of 60 mph. It has been invented after the ‘rocket belt’, which was used in the James Bond film in 1965, featuring Sean Connery.

The JetPack Aviation has been working on the project for over 40 years and they plan to open the jet pack experience centres throughout Britain in the middle of 2017. Tourists will be able to try the ‘JetPack Top Gun’ to get the adrenaline rush. The locations are yet to be decided.

David Mayman and Nelson Tyler are the brains behind the unique jetpacks. At present, they are planning to make the packs available in 2019 in exchange for £200,000.

Marion Birch of the Inland Waterways Association has stated, “This sounds exciting but we would want to know what the risks are to people and the environment before allowing this and we could have concerns potentially about boat aereals being damaged.”

David Mayman, the CEO at JetPack Aviation has informed, “A lot of us spent time in our youth fantasising about what it would be like to follow Buck Rogers up into the air with our very own jetpacks. We are getting a lot closer to launching a commercial product but there is still much further that we can take our design and ideas.”

It looks like, the travellers are about to get the experience of a lifetime.
