According to a recent survey, Philippines is one of the top countries with maximum number of international travelers in 2015 in Asia-Pacific. Philippines occupied the fourth spot as top Asia Pacific market, after Australia, New Zealand and India.
It shows that Filipinos visited more than five countries in 2015 and their increasing number shows increasing affluence of the population. This report is prepared by Visa inc. to forecast for travel & tourism industry for the next ten years.
The report establishes rising income of middle class households who can afford to travel abroad, rising internet connectivity and opening of over 300 airports globally. Also, the aging population is taking active interest in traveling, expected to increase international travel globally by 2025.
Medical tourism is also a determining factor for increased aged travelers. The report also specified international travelers from China, Hong Kong and Singapore likely to be the top 3 “big spenders” by 2025.
Vietnam, India and Indonesia are also likely to experience increased spending. The report said that such travels enrich local communities and lives resulting in exchange of ideas, cultures and thoughts
