Montreal 30 September 2016: In a ceremony held at ICAO Headquarters in the presence of key representatives of the air transport industry gathered for the 39th Triennial Assembly of ICAO, Hermes Air Transport Club named Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu, President of the Council of ICAO, Honorary Member of the Club.
In announcing this honour, Vijay Poonoosamy, President of Hermes Air Transport Club said: "Hermes Air Transport Club is a by-invitation-only association of leaders of the aviation community who are committed to improving its positive impacts at the national, regional and international levels. We also recognise through our very few Honorary Memberships those who have made or continue to make exceptional contributions to civil aviation. We are thus particularly pleased to confer the Honorary Membership of the Hermes Air Transport Club to Dr. Benard Aliu, President of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation."
Since the establishment of Hermes, Dr. Benard Aliu and ICAO have cooperated closely with Hermes. “It is an honour to welcome Dr. Benard Aliu as an Honorary Member of our Club,” added Dr Kostas Iatrou, Administrator of Hermes Air Transport Club.
