The world's most famous wax museum, Madame Tussauds will open its 21st center in Istanbul. Madame Tussauds is part of Merlin Entertainments which is the largest European entertainments company operating in Europe.
The Madame Tussauds Istanbul opening in December 2016 will be located at the Grand Pera building. The wax museum will feature more than 60 famous figures including historical and cultural icons as well as artists, sports stars and politicians from the past and the present.
Madame Tussauds Istanbul Group General Director Sarper Hilmi Suner said, "We are very excited to open a Madame Tussauds Museum in Turkey, a country which sits at the crossroads between East and West, Europe and Asia. By establishing a unique and entertaining center with wax sculptures of world-famous figures, we will breathe additional life into the Turkish entertainment sector," adding that Madame Tussauds Istanbul will also establish a section featuring milestones of the past to attract visitors to the magical city of Istanbul as well as local museum-goers.
At a press conference held today, Suner presented figures of Messi and Madonna which will meet with museum-goers in Istanbul when the Madame Tussauds Istanbul opens this December.
Other figures that will be at the museum are Mevlana, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Zeki Müren, Steve Jobs, Mazhar Fuat Özkan (MFÖ), Barış Manço and Mimar Sinan (Sinan the Architect)
