Emirates launches Dubai-Melbourne direct flight in October

 

Emirates Airlines announces the launch of direct flights, EK408 and EK409, to connect Melbourne with Dubai, from 30th October’16. These non-stop services are being offered for the first time by Emirates.
The EK408 will depart from Dubai at 3:00am and reach Melbourne around 11:20pm. Emirates aircraft B777-300ER, will return as flight EK409, and it will leave Melbourne at 6am.
The flight service from Dubai to Melbourne, provided by Emirates, goes through Kuala Lumpur. The new service will allow the passengers to save two and half hours of their travel time on both up and down trips. The new flights will present improved one-stop service.
Currently Emirates offers four flights daily from Dubai to Melbourne, in partnership with Qantas. Three of the services uses A380 aircraft and one uses Emirates flight B777-300ER.
From 30th October, the four remaining flight services will include two more non-stop daily-flights by Emirates, and one flight by Qantas aircraft. Also, one daily Emirates flight Dubai-Singapore-Melbourne, will be included with the rest.
Emirates, along with several travel agents and tour operators, is considering alternative means of travel for passengers, who booked flights to Kuala Lumpur on EK408 or EK409 after 30th October.
