Orlando welcomed a record number of visitors in 2015. 66.1 million people visited Orlando in 2015, up 5.5 percent from 2014.

In 1995, 32.4 million people visited Orlando. Since that time, Orlando's hotel inventory has grown by more than 37 percent, topping 117,000 rooms in 2015, according to Visit Orlando, which attributes Orlando's tourism growth to significant openings and expansions at the destination's theme parks and convention venues, an infusion of luxury offerings for travelers seeking five-star service and amenities, a renaissance in downtown Orlando, and the cultivation of a thriving culinary scene by James Beard Award-nominated local chefs and world-famous celebrity chefs.
