Budapest Airport was declared Best Airport in the Eastern Europe region for the third consecutive year at last night’s Skytrax World Airport Awards 2016. Following another record-breaking year in passenger numbers, the Hungarian gateway’s continued success has once again been recognised during the Passenger Terminal EXPO conference and exhibition in the city centre of Cologne.
Accepting the accolade on behalf of the airport, Kam Jandu, CCO, Budapest Airport, commented: “Receiving the Skytrax title of ‘Best Airport in the region’ is an outstanding achievement in itself, to retain this prestigious award for the third year in a row is a particular triumph and acknowledgement of our continued commitment to deliver best-practice throughout our airport. It is a great honour and an exceptionally proud moment to see our commitment once again recognised by passengers themselves.”
Held in high esteem throughout the aviation industry, the Skytrax World Airport Awards convey the results of the world’s largest customer satisfaction survey. Reflecting the honest opinions of more than 12 million passengers, travelling through airports from over 160 countries, the findings are a true evaluation of airport services and products. Holding onto its winning status for a third year is clear evidence of Budapest Airport’s ever-increasing popularity and continued excellence.
Budapest Airport’s CEO, Jost Lammers added: “The first time we won this award we were ecstatic, the second time provided assurance that it was not a fluke, to be rewarded a third time has really blown us away!
