Tony Tyler, IATA's Director General and CEO spoke at a media round table in Hong Kong where he addressed the current issues in the air transport industry globally and with particular significance to Hong Kong. Aviation has a real impact on Hong Kong. We estimate that currently aviation and related activities account for some 300,000 Hong Kong jobs and generate $25 billion in GDP. And by 2035 we see that more than doubling to 612,000 jobs and $52 billion in GDP.
