The 14th century travels of the Arab explorer Ibn Battuta have inspired the intricate décor and design details of the Mövenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate in Dubai in the UAE. Arabian architectural features are prominent in the magnificent structure of the hotel itself and Moroccan influences are reflected in luxurious room styling. The 5-star hotel is within walking distance from Ibn Battuta Shopping Mall and the Dubai Metro with easy access to Dubai’s top attractions. The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina and Jebel Ali Free Zone are situated nearby.

Mövenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate uses the Hotel Optimizer management system designed by Green Globe’s preferred Middle East Partner FARNEK to record and monitor all energy and water consumption. The hotel is striving to implement energy and water saving measures in all relevant areas and aims to reduce water and energy consumption by up to 8% per year. Energy saving strategies include the use of a centralized Room Management System (RMS) that controls air conditioning and lighting in guest rooms with adjustments made during periods of occupancy. In addition, there has been an increased usage of LED lighting and motion sensors throughout the property.
In an effort to conserve water resources, water saving aerators and dual system low flush toilets are fitted in guest rooms and public and staff bathrooms. The hotel has recently made improvements to its staff bathrooms by installing urinals featuring unique waterless technology, which is expected to make a positive contribution towards the reduction of water consumption. Furthermore, the hotel has a water storage tank in the basement of which can store seven days’ supply of water.
