Tourism numbers in Malaysia fell by 9.4 percent in first half of 2015, according to the tourism statistics released by Tourism Malaysia with the cooperation of Immigration Department. A total of 12,567,300 tourists visited Malaysia between January – June 2015. In the same period last year, Malaysia welcomed 13,875,046 tourists.
Singapore with 6,392,155 travelers ranked number 1 market for Malaysia followed by Indonesia (1,313,886) and China (751,383).
South Korea, Taiwan were the only two countries that show an increase in tourist arrivals during the first six months of 2015.
8,053 Turkish tourists visited Malaysia in H1 of 2015, a decrease of 11.3%.
