Riu Arecas is reopening its doors after closing for three months in order to complete a large remodeling project in which RIU Hotels have invested 17 million euros. Riu Arecas will be a hotel exclusively for adults aged 18 and over and will include many new features such as a new, beachside infinity pool with a sun terrace offering spectacular views, new restaurants, as well as free Wi-Fi 24 hours a day throughout the entire hotel; all of this plus a modern and contemporary look.
The Riu Arecas hotel originally opened in 1998 and was remodeled this summer, along with the neighbouring hotel Riu Palace Tenerife, which reopened in July after undergoing a 26 million euro renovation, thanks to which it rose from a 4 to a 5 starhotel. This considerable investment is part of the various projects being undertaken by RIU Hotels to improve its hotel offering and also demonstrate its commitment to Tenerife as a destination.
The Riu Arecas, located on the Adeje Coast has 401 rooms whose furniture and decoration have been completely remodeled. It has a new and elegant style in which the dominant colors are white and blue. The rooms are also equipped with 43 inch flat screen televisions, an electronic safe and completely renovated bathrooms in which the old bathtubs have been replaced with showers. The common areas, such as the lobby and reception have also been completely transformed, and a new lounge bar has been added.
As for gastronomy, the Riu Arecas now has a new theme restaurant specialising in Spanish cuisine. The main restaurant, which offers show cooking and theme nights, and the snack bar next to the infinity pool which completes the hotel's culinary offering.
The hotel is surrounded by 18,000 square meters of gardens which include two fresh water pools and an infinity pool with views of the promenade. Lovers of sports and relaxation can take advantage of the Body Love wellness centre, which offers various treatments, a gym, a jacuzzi and a steam bath.
