Travel advice for France and Turkey

British travelers to Istanbul and Paris are advised to take extra care in Paris and asked to follow the advice of the local authorities in France and Turkey.
Today, at least two terrorists attacked offices of Charlie Hebdo, the French satirical magazine, killed four cartoonists and eight others before heading off onto the streets of Paris. "We need to find the actors of this terrorist act," French President Francois Hollande said. "They must be arrested and brought before judges and condemned as quickly as possible. France is shocked today."
Yesterday, a Turkish police officer is killed after a suicide bombing at a police station in Istanbul’s touristic district of Sultanahmet, near the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia museum.
UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office have advised tourists in Paris and Istanbul. The office said:
On 7 January, gunmen attacked the Charlie Hebdo newspaper offices in east Paris. A number of people have been killed and injured. If you’re in Paris or the Ile de France area, take extra care and follow the security advice issued by the French authorities.
