The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism is hosted the 30th Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) Overseas Conference in Istanbul between 28 and 30 November 2014.
Turkey is one of the foremost destinations for travel in the world to which no less than 37.8 million travelers visited last year according to the World Tourism Organisation. Istanbul was also named the top destination in the world by TripAdvisor users earlier this year.
The Director General for Tourism Promotion for the Turkish Ministry of Culture & Tourism Irfan Önal, said, “We are very happy to have opened the prestigious AITO conference in Istanbul this year and look forward to introducing delegates to Istanbul’s diverse offerings. We are also looking forward to working together and engaging proactively with AITO and its members so as to build a strong and thriving relationship long into the future.”
The conference, which is sponsored by Turkish Airlines and Intra Travel, organized at CVK Park Bosphorus and held events at Istanbul Modern, and there were cultural and shopping tours of the city as well as a gala dinner at the Sait Halim Pasha water-front mansion.
AITO tour operators, AITO Agents and affiliates attended the three-day event along with members of the keynote speakers and guests. The conference included talks and discussions such as Global and UK Economic Overview, State of the Industry, Changing Landscapes of Insurance, the Googlification of Travel and Turkey Today and Tomorrow.
