The Spanish chain RIU Hotels and Resorts announced its intention to quit managing the RIU Playa Turquesa Hotel in Cuba.
Sources from the sector pointed out that the four-star, 531-room hotel is located in Yaguaranal Beach, in eastern Holguín province.
The hotel was added to the group's portfolio in May 2012 and since then, it has offered the company's All-Inclusive program.
RIU Hotels pointed out that in order to make that decision, it has reached an agreement with the hotel's proprietor, the Cuban Tourism Group Gaviota.
Gaviota runs 30 percent of Cuba's hotels in association with world-renowned companies such as Meliá Hotels International, Iberostar, Hotusa and Pestana.
