Qatar Tourism Authority set to organize “Heya” Khaliji Abaya Exhibition

Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) has announced that it will organize the sixth edition of Heya Exhibition, the largest exhibition for Khaliji and Arab Abaya and women fashion in the region, between 17 and 22 November at the Doha Exhibition Centre (DEC). Approximately 50% of the exhibitors will be Qatari women designers showcasing their latest Abaya fashion while the rest will come from the other GCC states. The exhibition is expected to be visited by more than 70,000 people from Qatar and the Gulf Countries. 65,000 people visited the fifth edition of the exhibition last year.

Through this major annual event, QTA seeks to raise awareness among all targeted groups and stakeholders about Qatar as an ideal destination, offering business friendly environment for exhibitions, and providing facilities that make it a leading local and regional MICE hub, in addition to its leisure and entertainment offerings. Such events also provide an opportunity for short-term and long-term business deals.

“QTA seeks to present everything new in the exhibitions industry in terms of both organization and quality of the exhibited products. We were encouraged to organize Heya Exhibition because it attracts a significant segment of the GCC community, resulting in an increase in the number of visitors to Qatar.” Hamad Al Abdan, Director of Exhibitions at QTA, commented

“Through such events, QTA works to build a mutually beneficial partnership with the stakeholders in the MICE sector. While exhibitions add value to their businesses, develop the industry, and support the promotional activities in Qatar and abroad, they help QTA promote Qatar as a tourism destination in the region. All this will reflect positively on the Qatari economy.” added, Al Abdan.

Heya (in Arabic for She ) is a unique exhibition showcasing the finest designs and latest trends in the world of Khaliji abayas, Arabic kaftans, and evening gowns for women in Qatar and the region. The exhibition is part of QTA’s efforts to build a sustainable tourism sector in Qatar. Established on an area of 5,000 square meters and consisting of 220 pavilions for exhibitors from Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, the conference will run for six days.
