How Excellence Impacts the Future


In order to impact the future, one must have a thorough understanding of the past, analyse the lessons learned and draft a clear plan to sustainable success in the future. 
Excellence in an organisation means meeting or exceeding the expectations of all stakeholders. This common mindset is a difficult attribute to build in a business and even more difficult to maintain. This is why EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) Forum 2014, which took place 20-21 October in Belgium, was a great opportunity to learn from experts on achieving and sustaining outstanding levels of performance.

EFQM helps organisations in their drive towards being more competitive by providing a framework called Excellence Model built on eight Fundamental Concepts. They have perfected this model over time and with the 2014 EFQM Forum the organisation marked its 25th anniversary. AIM Group International organised the event for yet another year, becoming an exemplary case study of the EFQM model.

AIM Group International worked towards satisfying the eight Fundamental Concepts of EFQM in order to meet and exceed the prerequisites for this event which were “quality” and “excellence”. These eight concepts enhance a closed circle stating from adding value to the customer, moving through the sustainable operation of the organisation, nurturing its talent and creativity, towards sustained long term results achieved with the help of organisational agility. As noted by EFQM, the focus now is not on what organisations do, it’s how well they do it.
EFQM Excellence Model is a must for any PCO. It enhances an organisation’s ability to anticipate and adapt, to innovate and create and to rapidly execute the changes required to make ideas a reality. The model is fundamental for an organisation wanting to be considered successful in its operations, wanting to see that success sustainable for the future and to be regarded as successful in the communities where it operates.
