Golfers worldwide have been given fresh impetus to sample one of the finest golf course redesigns in recent years following the release of a stunning new image collection by The Els Club Teluk Datai, Malaysia.
Situated on the tropical island of Langkawi, the layout, shaped by South African legend and four-time Major Champion Ernie Els, has received widespread acclaim from golfers, the media and industry officials alike.
Indeed, the recently-unveiled Troon-managed venue was named the ‘Best Golf Course’ at the 2014 Asia-Pacific Property Awards, setting it apart as the region’s No.1 destination for the game.
The Els Club Teluk Datai is the first of three Malaysian Els Club projects and represents the government’s drive to develop a world-class portfolio of attractions to elevate national tourism through its investment arm Destination Resorts and Hotels (DRH).
Work is also nearing completion on Els’ second and third Malaysian championship courses, currently under construction on Desaru Coast in Malaysia’s southernmost state of Johor, and will open for play in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Alongside luxury hotels and exciting leisure and entertainment attractions, as well as The Els Club Teluk Datai, each property will play an integral role in realising DRH’s vision for the enhancement of golf and travel in Malaysia.
