First Hyatt Place in Washington, DC Opens

CHICAGO—Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Crescent Hotels and Resorts have opened the Hyatt Place Washington DC/US Capitol, the first Hyatt Place in the nation’s capital.

The 14-story hotel is located in the northern portion of the NoMA district, within three blocks of the NoMa-Gallaudet U Metro station (Red Line) and north of the U.S. Capitol, the Smithsonian Institution, Union Station, the White House and Washington DC Convention Center. The hotel is also less than six miles from Georgetown and the National Cathedral.

The hotel offers 200 rooms, all of which feature a swiveling 42-in. HDTV, the Hyatt Grand Bed and Cozy Corner sectional sofa . Additional amenities include free WiFi everywhere; complimentary a.m. Kitchen Skillet breakfast; 1,600 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space; 24/7 Gallery Menu serving made-to-order entrees and appetizers around the clock; a Coffee to Cocktails Bar; a state‐of‐the‐art fitness facility; and an outdoor pool and terrace.

The hotel is under the leadership of General Manager Stacy Eacho Smith and Director of Sales Carlington Barnett. In her role, Smith is directly responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the hotel, including overseeing the hotel’s 65 associates. Barnett is responsible for providing sales service and support to travelers and meeting planners frequenting the DC area.
