Just 25 minutes in the car from Nadi International Airport followed by a three minute boat ride across the lagoon and you are on Sonaisali Island Resort.
It’s the closest Fijian Island experience you can get from the mainland and gives the sense of a true tropical escape. With the warm Pacific Ocean waves lapping the palm tree lined shores, the resort is private and secluded. The resort rooms and bures are hidden amongst lush tropical gardens while the expanse of beach stretched the length of the island.
As soon as you step off the transfer boat you are on Fiji time. Sonaisali Island Resort allows you to do as much as you like or as little as you please. Simply kick back and unwind, or experience the exciting activities on offer at the Resort, the mainland, or the neighbouring islands of the famous Mamanuca Group. On Sonaisali, if you’re doing nothing, or on the go all day, it’s because you want it that way!
The real sense of Fiji is experienced through the resorts unfailingly friendly staff who welcome you to their own special Paradise. The warmth and pride in hospitality you get from the staff make you feel like a VIP guest.
The accommodation options at Sonaisali Island Resort are varied enough to suit any guest, from romantic beachfront spa bures to family friendly rooms and air-conditioned beachfront hotel rooms to ocean-view bures. The best thing is whichever room or bure you choose; you will enjoy expansive ocean views.
Getting out of your room and around the resort you can enjoy a spectacular swimming pool including a swim-up pool bar and Jacuzzi, a shopping arcade includes boutique and gift shop, the Frangipani Spa, musical and cultural entertainment and a dedicated kids club with babysitting services. There are daily activities including scuba diving, jet skiing, surfing, paintball, sports fishing, a visit to an authentic Fijian Village, pottery making trip and so much more. In addition to the island activities are day tours across to the mainland and outer islands that can be booked through the Tours Desk.
The choice of food and beverage options is just as varied with culinary experiences across four restaurants and drinking options at three bars. At Sonaisali an emphasis on food has produced varied and memorable menus, influenced by the best of Asia/Pacific, Indian and European cuisines. Year round warm weather encourages informal alfresco dining at any of the poolside restaurants.
Sunset Restaurant is the resorts principle restaurant, featuring an extensive full American buffet breakfast, casual lunch buffet and themed nightly buffet dinners, as well as A la carte Lunch and Dinner. The Tale Bar is the resorts poolside cocktail lounge bar, featuring an extensive selection of premium cocktails and tapas influenced by Pacific Rim Cuisine. The Grill Restaurant and Pool Bar offers a casual alfresco experience, featuring a poolside grill menu as well as an extensive selection of beverages available at the bar.
Plantation Restaurant is the resorts air-conditioned fine dining restaurant. The menu features premium local and imported ingredients, prepared using European cooking techniques. This is complimented by an extensive selection of boutique and rare wines.
The best thing about all these options is the choice to purchase a meal package which is also a great saving. The Meal Package at Sonaisali Island Resort consists of lunch, Devonshire tea and dinner in the Sunset Terrace Restaurant for FJD$115.00 per person per day and FJD$58 for Children under 12. This can be pre booked or on arrival at the Resort. Lunch is 2 courses from the lunch a la carte menu. Dinner is a choice of either the Theme Night Buffet or 3 courses from the dinner a la carte menu.
