Tourism Cabinet Secretary Phyllis Kandie has assured tourists visiting the country and other players in the tourism sector of enough security.Ms Kandie, who is also in charge of the Trade and East African community docket, said the discovery of the shocking cache of terror arsenal in a car in Mombasa on Monday should not scare tourists from visiting the county.
Speaking to journalists at Sun-n-Sand beach hotelin Kilifi County after she officially opened the fifth inter-university council for East Africa conference, Kandie said the Kenyan security agencies were alert to ensure there was safety for both foreigners and Kenyans.
She said her ministry and that of internal security were working together to ensure suspected terrorists are arrested and prosecuted in courts of law.“The Kenyan security organs are alert to trail and detect any terror suspects who could be in the country for their arrest and prosecution,” said Kandie.
