Beginning in spring 2014, Four Seasons Hotel Firenze has secured an exclusive and completely private location not available to anyone but the Hotel’s guests: on a fourth floor private terrace with unbeatable views to the Arno River and Vasarian Corridor located right on top of Ponte Vecchio above the Dante Cardini jewellery boutique. It is an unparalleled new way to experience the landmark by giving guests the chance to actually dine on the Ponte Vecchio for the first time.
Four Seasons Hotel Firenze has imagined a new idea: a romantic dinner for two based on the history of Ponte Vecchio, as it evolved from butchering to the jewellery trade. The format is customizable depending on the guests’ requests and attentive service is always guaranteed, as is the presence of qualified Four Seasons staff, chefs and Michelin-starred cuisine.
From the bridge, there is a great view along the Arno River and beyond where it will be possible to admire a magnificent sunset before dinner. The colours and atmosphere created by the sunset will surely enchant couples.
“We wanted to offer a unique way to see Florence,” says General Manager Patrizio Cipollini. “Having a dinner at a place that’s such a symbol of the city was what we came up with. Our intention when we discovered this astonishing location, ideal for a romantic retreat where nobody has ever organized something so special, was to offer a unique experience to our guests, and create a link with the history of the city and the bridge, a living point of attraction in the Renaissance, presenting to our guests a dedicated menu featuring gold, and designed by Chef Vito Mollica.”
The menu is entirely customizable, but the property’s Michelin-starred Chef Vito Mollica, who helms the restaurant Il Palagio, has conceptualized a dinner focused on gold, which speaks to the Ponte Vecchio’s history in the jewelry trade. Guests will enjoy a four-course meal that begins with prosecco at sunset. Dishes, made on site, include scallop carpaccio with golden citrus dressing; saffron risotto with sevruga caviar and golden leaves; and a golden chocolate sphere with Vin Santo zabaione by Pastry Chef Domenico Di Clemente.
For those who wants to celebrate something special during the dinner, the artisans of the Dante Cardini have created Fabulous, a Four Seasons ring (price on request) made of white gold and diamonds and topped with a rose sapphire.
