A new ultra-low-cost airline, Jetlines, is set to cut the cost of domestic travel in Western Canada.
The airline, which will be operated by Canada Jetlines, will take an initial $100m in financing from Salman Partners and $26m from Robson Capital Markets Advisory.
The carrier has already applied for a licence to operate large aircraft and has negotiated for landing slots at Vancouver and other Canadian airports.
Jetlines plans to launch with two A319s in late 2014, rising to 16 aircraft by 2017.
