WASHINGTON—Island
Hospitality Management, LLC, completed a $5-million renovation and conversion
of the Washington Inn Guest Suites to the Residence Inn by Marriott Washington
DC/Foggy Bottom.
The property
is owned by hotel REIT Chatham Lodging Trust.
“This hotel
has the enviable position of being located in a quaint, historic neighborhood
and is the only branded, extended-stay hotel within easy walking distance to
the World Bank, four embassies, the Kennedy Center and the State Department,”
stated Tim Walker, president/CEO of Island.
The
renovation of the 103-suite, pet-friendly hotel included an expanded
lobby to accommodate the Residence Inn’s complimentary breakfast, evening
social hours and mid-week dinners and an enlarged fitness center. The 700-sq.-
ft. guest suites were completely renovated to include granite bathrooms, full
kitchens, furnishings and soft goods.
