Family travel a growing trend for South Africa tourism.

At the 2013 Indaba in South Africa, tourism specialists revealed a new trend taking place in the Southern Africa market. More and more families are travelling to South Africa to experience the rich culture and diversity the country has to offer. A particular interest is family- Safari vacations. Increasingly lodges are catering for children to make the experience family friendly.

A lodge that has well-established itself in this regard is HillsNek Safari. HillsNek Safaris is nestled in the Amakhala game reserve; in the malaria-free part of South Africa the Eastern Cape.

This family-run lodge is set on the edge of the Bushman’s River with breath-taking views of fauna a flora. The abundant wildlife including the Big 5 and more than 250 birdlife make the game drives a spectacular experience.

HillsNek Safaris is a very special place for families and with a brand new family tent is perfect for a family of four. The family tent is comprised of two separate tented bedrooms with an interleading door. With spectacular views of the plains, the children are drawn to admiring the natural landscape and wildlife passing by.

To accommodate for children’s early bed times, HillsNek Safaris offers earlier dinner times for children coupled with a fun kiddies menu.

The special children’s safari bags have been hugely successful and are enjoyed during the interactive game drives. HillsNek prides itself on not having television or internet facilities as there is absolutely no need for it when you are there. Children are instead encouraged to explore nature and marvel at the wildlife around them.
