Bulgaria
plans to invest about 1 billion euro in its railway system as part of
its 2014-2020 EU program.
Bulgarian Minister of Transport Danail Papazov said that the main goal here is to increase the speed and safety of their railroads. The first priority in modernizing the rail lines include Sofia-Svilengrad, Sofia-Burgas, Vidin-Sofia and Varna-Ruse that carry in international traffic.
