Ushuaia
Ibiza Beach Hotel has
once again set the benchmark for outdoor events on the White Isle
with an explosive opening event comprising over 15 hours of
uninterrupted music and visual performance.
Amongst the thousands of guests that came to witness the highly anticipated event were a number of UK celebrities including Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand and Take Me Out Presenter Zoe Hardman as well as a whole host of international DJs, sports stars and TV personalities.
The opening party started at The Ushuaia Club at midday on Saturday 25th May around the emblematic Ushuaia pool. Spanish label Los Suruba were first on stage, tasked with getting the crowd to their feet with deep electronic beats. Followed by Uner, Maya Jane Coles, Joris Voorn,Reboot and Andrea Oliva, guests were treated to a full line up of premium musical talent under the Balearic sunshine.
The first of the three headline acts, Loco Dice, took to the stage at around 10.30pm for his Ushuaia debut, setting the tone for his summer residency ‘Used & Abused’ starting on 6th June. Under a full moon, the crowds went wild when Ushuaia regular Luciano took to the decks, cementing his position as the ‘master of Ushuaia ceremonies’, having starred in the opening and closing events of the previous two seasons.
Last on stage was eagerly anticipated DJ Sven Vath, also debuting on the Ushuaia stage. Popping his Ushuaia cherry with a phenomenal bang, Sven Vath closed the show with an exhilarating set which continued well into the early hours of Sunday morning.
As well as a star studded line up of the hottest DJ talent, The Ushuaia Club launched into its third season with world class pyrotechnics and startling choreography featuring outstanding costumes. Of note was an elaborate red and white dress made of feathers featuring the trademark Ushuaia hummingbird.
As well as the symbolic go-go girls, dressed in their playful vintage wear, the opening event featured world class acrobatics with a tightrope walker scaling the venue from left to right high above the crowds before disappearing in a cloud of firecrackers. As darkness set in, partygoers enjoyed a light show including two enormous dragons floating across the crowds and a giant tiger projected onto the main stage.
Once again, the two most emblematic areas of The Ushuaia Club, the main stage and the pool, played starring roles with the stage featuring new sophisticated LED light functions, allowing a spectacular show of colour and light, and the pool acting as a screen, where on nightfall a floating bed of ping pong balls formed the basis for an original video mapping.
Displaying constant innovation, the opening event once more helped affirm Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel as the world’s leading adult entertainment venue and the go-to venue for summer 2013. As well as a phenomenal opening, new developments include the recent launch of premium property The Ushuaia Tower where the first guests were able to enjoy a first class bird’s eye view of the opening party from the comfort of their private terraces.
