INTERNORGA 2013 |
Hamburg,
18 June 2013 – A cruise ship is like a small city: With its
on-board restaurants, cafés, bars, shops, theatre, cinema, casino,
wellness centre and sports facilities it offers many ways of enjoying
the journey. All these activities depend on specific suppliers which
the shipbuilder must take into consideration when outfitting these
floating holiday resorts. At Seatrade Europe, the leading trade event
of the European cruise and rivercruise industry which will be held at
the Hamburg fair site from 24 to 26 September 2013, more than 250
exhibitors from roughly 50 countries and a wide range of industry
segments will showcase their offerings.
An
especially exciting fact: This year numerous domestic and
international companies will be exhibiting at Seatrade Europe for the
first time. By presenting their products and services they hope to
gain a foothold in the international cruise business, or intensify
their involvement. Seatrade Europe is an ideal platform for
networking directly with decision-makers from ship-owning companies
and shipyards. Companies wishing to expand into a booming industry
will be able to meet face to face with industry stakeholders and
potential customers. A special, exclusive exhibition area called
'Newcomers' Pavilion' will be set-up for them at Seatrade Europe.
This marketplace of innovations will feature 24 German and
international companies.A major portion of the new exhibitors are from the hospitality segment, including food & beverage companies, but also suppliers of IT, communication and entertainment systems as well as hospitality equipment. For example, the Swiss company Beer Grill, which has been manufacturing electrothermal food preparation and display equipment for 90 years, will showcase its "Vulcano", a multifunctional display cabinet allowing various foods to be kept warm and moist at individual temperature and moisture levels. "We have customised our products specifically for the requirements of today's on-board food preparation and presentation," says Andreas Schäfer, Managing Director of Beer Grill GmbH.
Another exhibitor, HAIL (Hotel Amenities International Limited) Europe Guests Supplies, specialises on enhancing the on-board experience of cruise ship passengers. The Dutch firm supplies high-quality body care products for bathrooms and spa areas. Originating from many different countries of the world, these products include rare items such as soaps manufactured by a family business in Parma, Italy; a washing lotion from London; shaving foam made from the fruit of the southern Moroccan Argan tree; or Greek eaux de toilette with blood orange, pistachio, lime or other exotic fragrances.
Top-quality, innovative upholstery fabrics for maritime purposes will be presented by Dickson-Constant, France's most time-honoured textile manufacturer. Among the highlights to be shown at Seatrade Europe will be "Sunbrella Terry". "This is a truly innovative fabric for maritime applications," announces Lars Rippstein, Managing Director of the German branch of Dickson-Constant. "Sunbrella Terry feels similar to high-grade, soft terrycloth," says Rippstein. This highly lightfast and flameproof fabric combines a sophisticated look and feel with a number of unique technical benefits, he adds. "We are delighted to be part of this important international trade fair this year for the first time, and we are looking forward to the opportunity to meet representatives of the cruise and ferry industry and establish new and promising business contacts," says Lars Rippstein of Dickson-Constant Germany.
The idea of setting up a Newcomers' Pavilion was first conceived for INTERNORGA, the leading trade fair for the out-of-home market. "At INTERNORGA we found the Newcomers' Area to be welcomed with great enthusiasm," says Bernd Aufderheide, Chairman of the Board of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH. With its Newcomers' Pavilion, Seatrade Europe takes this successful concept to the next level, adapting it to the specific requirements of the cruise market.
For companies interested in developing new business in the cruise industry, the Seatrade Europe conference programme offers substantial added value. On Wednesday 25 September, this topic will be addressed by a panel of distinguished speakers, such as Ralf Sempf, Director, Head of Materials Management and Purchasing, Meyer Werft GmbH, and Tom Beeck, Director Supply Chain Europe, Royal Caribbean Cruise Ltd. Their presentation is titled "Opportunities and Challenges for Potential Suppliers and Service Providers". The thoughts and ideas of these notable industry experts should be of great interest to new players in the cruise market.
