Culture and Tourism Directorate announced record number of tourist
arrivals in May 2013.
A total of 3.983.674 tourists visited Istanbul in the first 5 months of 2013. The Directorate said in that the number of foreign tourists visiting Istanbul increased 21 percent compared to the same period last year.
A record number of tourists have visited the city in May. A total of 1.058.771 tourists visited Istanbul in May 2013, an increase of 22 percent compare to May 2012 that visited by 867.511 tourists.
The most of the tourists arrived in Istanbul are from Germany which is followed by Russia with 252.376, France with 185.693 and the US with 175.315. A total of 452.088 German tourists visited Istanbul.
