Following
the inaugural ILTM Africa held in Cape Town earlier this year,
organisers Reed Travel Exhibitions has announced that the 2014 event
will take place in the East Ballroom of the Cape Town International
Conference Centre (CTICC) from 28th – 30th April.
With the first ILTM Africa in 2013 a sell out event, next year’s event will give more creative space for the table top presentation format, dedicated feature areas and a variety of options for networking opportunities.
ILTM Africa will be one of three co-located travel industry events at the CTICC that form ‘Africa Travel Week’. The others will include IBTM Africa (Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings) 28th-30th April, and WTM Africa (World Travel Market), which will take place from 2nd – 3rd May.
Located in the hub of the city’s northern foreshore, the ILTM Africa venue at the CTICC provides guests with views of Table Mountain, the Roggebaai Canal and the famous V&A Waterfront area.
“This is an unmatched waterfront location with all the facilities we need to build on the success of ILTM Africa 2013. With so many new suppliers already wanting to join those who celebrated the success of our first event, we now move to a location and environment that is conducive to doing business whilst enjoying the variety of all the facilities on the Waterfront,” says Alison Gilmore, Exhibition Director, ILTM Portfolio.
ILTM Africa 2014 is expected to host up to 150 suppliers of luxury travel experiences from across the African continent to meet international accredited buyers through a mutual matching, pre-scheduled one-to-one business appointments system.
Simon Mandy, Marketing & Operations Manager for The Royal Portfolio was delighted with the quality of the buyers he met at ILTM Africa 2013 and also found many he had never met before. “We are so appreciative of what ILTM is doing. We have traditionally travelled to all corners of the world to find these buyers, but to have them here is remarkable. It’s a great opportunity to sell to those we haven’t met before and has given us a great platform.“
Mr. Simone Scarapicchia, Partner and Sales & Marketing Director of Hideaway of Nungwi Resort & Spa Zanzibar concluded, “ILTM Africa 2013 was very interesting and the buyers are really good quality. I will generate lots of business and I have met people from South America, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. It’s a great event and I will definitely be back next year”.
